                              ORDINANCE NO.   9885 
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE,
                   PART II, CHAPTER 21, ARTICLE VI, WHICH
                   ARTICLE IS KNOWN AS THE "CHATTANOOGA FAIR
                   HOUSING ORDINANCE."
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE:
       	    	 SECTION 1.  That Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter
       21, Article VI, Section 21-86 through and including Section 21-91 

       (formerly Article III, Sections 21-66 -- 21-71), be and the same
       are hereby amended by deleting therefrom any and all references 
to
       "race, color, or national origin" and "race, color, sex, 
handicap,
       religion, or national origin" and substituting in lieu thereof
       "race, color, sex, handicap, religion, national origin, or
       familial status."
       	    	 SECTION 2.  That Section 21-91 (formerly Section 21-71)
       be and the same is hereby further amended by deleting therefrom
       "the board of commissioners" and "any member of the board of
       commissioners with the vice-mayor being primarily responsible to
       accept such claims" and substituting in lieu thereof "the mayor."
       	    	 SECTION 3.  That this ordinance shall be effective two
       (2) weeks from and after its passage as provided by law.
